About the project
Matcha Home imports single-farm matcha and sells it both to households and, in bulk, to cafés. Those are two different buyers with two different questions, and the old shop tried to serve them from one product page — retail pricing next to a "request wholesale pricing" link that went to a generic form. We split the paths at the navigation level: a retail shop with tins and starter sets, and a B2B area with volume pricing, sample ordering and a downloadable spec sheet per harvest. Both share one product database, so a new harvest is entered once.

What we did
Design
A quiet, botanical visual language: deep green, warm paper white, and a serif that carries the ceremonial claim without turning precious. B2B pages reuse the same components with denser tables.
Development
One catalogue, two storefront modes, switched by customer group after login. Wholesale prices are never rendered for anonymous visitors, which was a hard requirement from the importer contracts.
Advertising
Retail runs on search and Pinterest; B2B runs on LinkedIn and a small trade-press retargeting pool. Keeping the budgets separate made it obvious within a month which channel deserved the growth.
Accompaniment
Each harvest arrives with new lab values and a new spec sheet; we handle the content cycle so a harvest goes live the day it clears customs.

What they say about us
Splitting retail and wholesale sounded like twice the work and twice the cost. They built it as one catalogue with two faces, and our café customers stopped emailing us for a price list.
